Telling Our Stories : "Coming of Age"
Author/actor/educator Paul McComas gives dramatic performances of, and analyzes, works by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Herman Raucher, Maya Angelou, Aimee Mann, Joyce Carol Oates, and himself that address one of the most popular of literary themes: that singular journey of discovery in between childhood and adulthood. In the process, Paul also provides pointers to writers who are tackling, or looking to tackle, "coming of age" stories themselves.
Paul McComas is the author of six books: the novels Planet of the Dates and Unplugged; the short-story collections Twenty Questions and Unforgettable: Harrowing Futures, Horrors, & (Dark) Humor; the co-authored novella Fit for a Frankenstein; and the co-authored short-plays series Uncanny Encounters -- LIVE!. He's also the editor of two anthologies, First Person Imperfect and Further Persons Imperfect. Paul co-authored the SF novel Logan's Journey (slated for 2017 publication) and is currently co-authoring Edgar G. Ulmer: A Life on Film (slated for 2018 by University Press of KY) and the novella The Mummy's Cruise.
