For writers in all genres with a personal story to tell - in 500 words
Practice your craft and raise a glass at Ten Ninety, where our merry band will gather to read micro memoirs incorporating the techniques we've studied in workshop in the last several sessions. Bring [up to] a 500-word flash personal piece (HARD LIMIT!) to read before the group. This is a stand-up performance; a chance to hone your delivery before a supportive, attentive audience. While you're welcome to bring a selection from an existing work, each reading should stand on its own as a fully-developed narrative needing no introductory remarks or contextual explanation.
Where we'll meet: The tap room at Ten Ninety.
We have time for 20 or so readings, but there's space for a larger audience, so feel free to bring a guest to catch your act, or just come to kibitz! Readers sign in to read upon arrival.
