Copyright affects everyone and every type of published and unpublished media, including print, electronic content, photographs, art, and music. Learn what copyright law covered before 1978, what has changed since 1978, how copyright law is applied to electronic technology, when copyright begins, how to register your work, and how to avoid infringing someone’s else’s work. What would you do if someone infringed your copyright? Cheryl Besenjak’s presentation will cover all of these issues in depth. Cheryl also invites you to email your copyright questions to her before her presentation on February.

Cheryl Besenjak has spent her professional career involved with copyright. She negotiated rights for all types of media for use in educational texts and materials. She developed and founded copyRights Newsletter to meet the need for copyright education. She is the author of Copyright Plain & Simple, 1997, 2000, published by Career Press. She has been a national speaker and trainer to the publishing world.

Cheryl was also the Copyright Director for one of the largest contemporary churches in the United States where she negotiated rights for all media, provided copyright education for staff, and led workshops on rights and permissions to pastors and creative artists at an annual International Arts Conference.

Cheryl enjoys applying copyright law in all types of situations and in helping others learn to do it themselves. Read more about Cheryl's background on LinkedIn.
